Peter Tremblay is the owner and head instructor of Alpha Mixed Martial Arts in Carleton Place, Ontario. Peter has a long and rich career in martial arts.

Starting in 1972, Peter has studied a wide variety of martial arts.

While practicing martial arts, Peter spent many years in the corporate world working for several multinational firms as an IT and physical security specialist.

Peter has more than a thorough knowledge and deep understanding of striking, clinch work as well as ground fighting techniques.

Exceptionally passionate about Jiu-Jitsu and grappling, Peter’s coach is Prof. Ben Meireles a BJJ black belt under Fabio Holanda of Brazilian Top Team Canada.

Peter teaches the Brazilian Top Team curriculum for his jiu-jitsu program that is based in time-tested movements as well as the latest and most effective techniques. Some would call Peter a “Warrior Philosopher”. This becomes apparent in all the classes offered at Alpha Mixed Martial Arts, as they are based on a few simple and powerful principles:

1) Everything at Alpha is geared to allow the student to learn that their own greatest enemy is themselves. The sooner they learn that the sooner they can become their own greatest ally.

2) Each student first learns that it is not about controlling other but about learning to control themselves.

When asked what the greatest reward that he receive from teaching, his response was “seeing someone achieve something that they never thought they could.”
